Christ Crucified Is our Day of Atonement - August 8, 2020

This is the 7th of 8 sermons unpacking the importance of Christ crucified. Paul resolved to know nothing amongst the church, but Christ and him crucified. The question is Why? This week we see learn that Christ’s crucifixion is the pinnacle of God’s history of salvation (The Passover) whereby a Holy God protects and leads a people into a new realm to make them a holy people dwelling in a holy space.

Justification: The Cross is the Only Right Way We Can Be Saved - July 19, 2020

This is the 4th of 8 sermons unpacking the importance of Christ crucified. Paul resolved to know nothing amongst the church, but Christ and him crucified. The question is Why? This week we see learn that Christ’s crucifixion is the pinnacle of God’s merciful act of justification—whereby God saves sinners declaring them to righteous for the sake of Christ’s satisfaction for theirs in and his righteousness imputed to them and received by faith alone. God’s people can approach him at peace and with confidence.

This week we learn that Christ’s crucifixion demonstrates God’s love for sinners in that it brings propitiation—the turning away of God’s wrath upon sinners so that God can look on sinners with pleasure and God’s people can approach him at peace and with confidence.
