Main Point: Romans 8:35-39, declares that the simple might regard those who love God as appearing to be foolish, tragic, helpless creatures-“sheep to be slaughtered,” but the wise will see that those who love God are really “more than conquerors.”

Main Point: In Romans 8:33-34, believers learn to trust what God declares about them over what anyone else based upon three truths.

1. Who are they? God’s Elect
2. Who are their accusers? The Reprobate
3. Who is the advocate? The Christ Jesus

Main Point: In Romans 8:31-32, we learn to apply the providence of God (explained in Romans 8:28-30) as we engage our fears theologically, so that we may live.

   a) Will my Enemies prevail over me?    
   b) Will my needs be unmet?    
2. Facing my God
   a) God is for me. In Christ, God is no longer my enemy.    
   b) God graciously gives me all things. He didn’t spare his Son.      
3. Facing Forward: Only in knowing the Father’s Love communicated to me by the cross of Christ, can I be strong and courageous because our God is with me wherever I go.  

Main Point: In Romans 8:28-30, we learn that all who love God must trust God’s constant, comprehensive and certain goodness toward them because of the “golden chain of salvation” which is expressed in God’s loving actions for them in past, present, and future.

Main Point: In Romans 8 we have learned the gospel, that believers in Christ are not only uncondemnable and formerly enslaved to sin, but now due to the ministry of the Holy Spirit, all believers are made sons of God by adoption. We learn that we will be powerfully rescued from suffering and afflictions, yet God’s children will be preserved as we pray and the Spirit prays for us and the Father answers those prayers. All true prayer is gospel-driven prayer!
